Basketball Recap: Abernathy Snags 11th Win in Last 13 Games

Abernathy had won three straight road games and Mecailin Marshall did her part to make it four on Friday. The Abernathy Antelopes couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 85-11 blowout they got against the Post Antelopes thanks in part to Marshall, who almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kendal Miller, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and three steals. Those nine boards gave her a new career-high.

Abernathy has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Post, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

Abernathy will take on Tahoka at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Abernathy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season. As for Post, they will square off against Ralls at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Post is facing Ralls at the right time seeing as Ralls is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
