Softball Recap: Stanhope Elmore Comes Up Short

Stanhope Elmore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 10-0 to the Gulf Shores Dolphins. The match marked the first time this year in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

Stanhope Elmore's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Gulf Shores, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Stanhope Elmore will head out to square off against Trinity Presbyterian at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Trinity Presbyterian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.33 runs per game on average), something Stanhope Elmore will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Gulf Shores, they will face off against Baldwin County at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Gulf Shores is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
