Soccer Game Preview: Socastee vs. Myrtle Beach

Socastee hasn't had much luck against Myrtle Beach recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Socastee is taking a road trip to square off against Myrtle Beach at 7:30 p.m. Socastee's last five matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was North Myrtle Beach who was credited with the win on Friday. North Myrtle Beach got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Socastee's two.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Myrtle Beach turned things around against Conway on Friday. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Myrtle Beach's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Their offense was hitting Conway from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Cameron Bary led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Socastee's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Myrtle Beach, their win bumped their record up to 2-4-1.

Socastee might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Myrtle Beach in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Socastee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
