Softball Recap: Mansfield Summit Comes Up Short

Mansfield Summit might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Cleburne who claimed the real prize. Mansfield Summit lost 8-2 to Cleburne. The Jaguars have struggled against the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Mansfield Summit saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michaela Holcomb, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Mansfield Summit now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Cleburne, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-12-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mansfield Summit will venture away from home to take on Everman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Everman has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.18 runs per game on average), something Mansfield Summit will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cleburne, they will head out to square off against Seguin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
