Volleyball Recap: Southwestern Heights Falls Short of Holcomb in the Playoffs

Southwestern Heights and Holcomb squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Southwestern Heights had to settle for second. They fell 2-0 to the Longhorns. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Longhorns: they've now lost eight in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-15.

Southwestern Heights' offense was headlined by Leslie Garcia and Lacie Banman, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Mariah Mendoza and her eight assists.

Southwestern Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 17-16. As for Holcomb, their win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 35-4.

Southwestern Heights has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Russell on the 20th. Holcomb does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
