Basketball Game Preview: Plains Cowboys vs. Farwell Steers

The Plains Cowboys will head out on the road to challenge the Farwell Steers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Plains beat Smyer 48-44.

Meanwhile, Farwell had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.7 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Monday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 60-41 win over the Wolves. Farwell's victory was all the more impressive since the Wolves were averaging only 28.44 points allowed on the season.

Farwell's win came from a few key players Plains will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Makylee Baldwin, who went 7 for 12 on her way to 16 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Jaime, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Farwell's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Plains, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
