Baseball Recap: Piute Has No Trouble Against American Heritage

Piute's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the American Heritage Patriots as they made off with a 20-9 win. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbirds, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Nash Fautin was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, five runs, and three RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Blake Dalton, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base.

Piute was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

With the victory, Piute broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-5. As for American Heritage, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piute will face off against Green River at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for American Heritage, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Utah Military Academy - Hill Field at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will need to watch out since the Thunderbirds have now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
