Sundi Fazio put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and five unearned) runs off ten hits. Fazio was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Fazio wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Liza Lambert, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

New Brighton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Shenango, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
