Basketball Recap: Corsica/Stickney Jaguars vs. Freeman Flyers
Corsica/Stickney came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt a 63-36 defeat at the hands of the Freeman Flyers. The Jaguars were not able to make up for their loss to the Flyers from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.
Freeman found their leader in freshman David Walter, who went 8-for-11 on his way to 22 points and seven rebounds. Walter's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Sorensen, who posted 11 points and six boards.
Corsica/Stickney's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Freeman, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Corsica/Stickney didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-36 loss against Gregory on the 15th. As for Freeman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 68-56 defeat against St. Mary on the 15th.
