Baseball Recap: Webbers Falls Victorious

Webbers Falls took an 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Keota, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lions 10-8. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brutus Robinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off three hits. Robinson was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Webbers Falls' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 12-1 (and 2-7 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trysten Wilbourn, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Austin Barger, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Webbers Falls' win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Keota, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

As of now, neither Webbers Falls nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
