Basketball Recap: Long Branch Takes a Loss

Long Branch was the 56-53 winner over Point Pleasant Beach when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Long Branch Green Wave might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls an easy 71-48 victory.

Long Branch dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Point Pleasant Beach, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Long Branch will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Red Bank Regional on Friday. Red Bank Regional will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Long Branch surely won't give up without a fight. As for Point Pleasant Beach, they will head out to square off against Central Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
