Baseball Recap: Mira Mesa Comes Up Short

Mira Mesa lost against University City on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Marauders fell just short of the Centurions by a score of 2-1. The Marauders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mira Mesa got a good showing from Lucas Fletcher, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fletcher has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nathaniel Widelski made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one stolen base.

Mira Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 12-16. As for University City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-12.
