The biggest upset of the week belonged to Shaw, who took down 89th ranked Shaw, 16-14. Jaylon Clemons ran for 81 yards in the win.
The Hawks' Andre Pruitt recorded the longest rushing play in 1A Region 2 this season in his game against French Camp Academy last week. Pruitt scampered for 85 yards on the play and finished with 86 on the day as his team lost to the Panthers.
Keveon Shepherd was the best wideout in the league this week as Kendrick Smith's team fell to French Camp Academy. Shepherd racked up three receptions for 79 yards. Jermarquis Stimmage helped Shaw's passing attack out by catching one ball for 44 yards.
Raines Rester put up the best numbers through the air as St. Joseph bested Montgomery County. He finished with five completions for 82 yards and one touchdown. Rester's favorite target this week was Jacob Reifers, who caught two passes for 56 yards.
Shaw's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hawks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pruitt has thrown for 617 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Shepherd has 10 catches for 223 yards. Christopher Harthone leads the league in rushing with 431 yards.
A big matchup in 1A Region 2 this week will be when the Hawks take on Durant. Shaw is currently in second, while the Tigers are in fifth.
Nathan Wright's team moved up to 121 from 153 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Panthers climbed the ranks as a result of a 16-14 win over the Hawks.
