Valley Vista has been on a difficult stretch since their win on December 18. They lost 8-0 to the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Monsoon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Mountain Lions are ranked seventh).

Valley Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-2. As for Mountain Ridge, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Valley Vista will challenge South Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
