Softball Recap: West Port Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, West Port finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They lost 11-1 to the Trenton Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-2 back in March.

With the loss, West Port broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-11. As for Trenton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Port will head out to face off against Dunnellon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Trenton, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Taylor County at 5:30 p.m. on the 21st.
