Volleyball Recap: Carrollton Trojans vs. East Coweta Indians

After flying high against Paulding County last Wednesday, Carrollton came back down to earth. The Trojans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Coweta Indians on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost four in a row.

While Carrollton ultimately came up short, they really made East Coweta work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 28-26.

Mallory Williams paced Carrollton's offense, picking up seven kills. Williams got some help from Olivia Sims and her 11 assists. Finally, Williams was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

East Coweta can attribute much of their success to Hanna Monnin, who had eight digs and four assists.

Carrollton's defeat dropped their record down to 18-20. As for East Coweta, they moved to 12-20 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak.
