Volleyball Recap: Western Harnett Comes Up Short

Western Harnett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They came up short against the Union Pines Vikings, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16, 25-16.

Mylee Scruggs had a dynamite game For Union Pines., getting 16 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Scruggs has posted over her last six matchups. Cailee McNeil also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Western Harnett's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Union Pines, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-2.

While Western Harnett had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
