Basketball Recap: Central Bulldogs vs. Parkview Vikings

The Central Bulldogs can finally bid farewell to their 31-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Monday. They snuck past Parkview with a 44-40 win. That four point margin sets a new team best for Central this season.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brooklynn Haines, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Haines has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Masten, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Central's victory ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-15. As for Parkview, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-20.

Central will take on the Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Parkview, they will head out on the road to square off against the Zizzers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Plains presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Vikings in Missouri (the Zizzers are ranked 32nd, while the Vikings are ranked 371st).
