Basketball Game Preview: Ponderosa Bruins vs. Inderkum Tigers

The Ponderosa Bruins will face off against the Inderkum Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Wednesday, Ponderosa didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Vista del Lago, but they still walked away with a 65-61 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

Angel Flores had an outrageously good game as he went 7-for-13 on his way to 21 points and three steals. What's more, he also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Travis Bays was another key player, going 5-for-10 en route to 15 points.

Meanwhile, Inderkum came tearing into Wednesday's game with 18 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 80-61 win over the Raiders. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Raiders are ranked 191st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Inderkum's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.3 points. As for Ponderosa, their win bumped their record up to 6-21.

Ponderosa was taken down by Inderkum 91-33 when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Inderkum's Cole Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds.
