The Eustis Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the South Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eustis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Eustis came up short against Windermere and fell 5-2. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.

Eustis saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryder Newman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Braeden Barnes also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, South Lake won against Mount Dora on Tuesday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Eagles came out on top against Windermere by a score of 3-0. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Lane Turner, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

South Lake now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Eustis, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Eustis has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like South Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Eustis came out on top in a nail-biter against South Lake when the teams last played back in February of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
