Baseball Recap: Grosse Pointe North Takes a Loss

Grosse Pointe North came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 13-5 to the University Liggett Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Norsemen of the 12-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Grosse Pointe North saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was DJ Edwards, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Trevor Lipscomb also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Grosse Pointe North dropped their record down to 3-13 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for University Liggett, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

While Grosse Pointe North had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
