Soccer Recap: Thatcher Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Thatcher challenged Tanque Verde on Thursday. The Eagles fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 2-1. Thatcher were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tanque Verde apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

This is the second loss in a row for Thatcher and nudges their season record down to 0-4-1. As for Tanque Verde, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-1.

Looking ahead, Thatcher will be home for the holidays to greet Sahuaro at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tanque Verde, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Douglas on the 12th.
