Baseball Recap: South Dearborn Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

South Dearborn posted their closest victory since April 12th on Monday. They skirted past the Connersville Spartans 7-6. The win was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ryker Morris made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Morris was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Morris wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mason Hamlett, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. South Dearborn is 5-1 when Hamlett posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise.

South Dearborn now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Connersville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-11.

Looking ahead, South Dearborn will venture away from home to face off against Rising Sun at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Connersville will be paying especially close attention to the Knights' match: after the Knights face off against the Shiners, they'll take on Connersville again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
