Volleyball Game Preview: Darlington Redbirds vs. Cuba City Cubans

Darlington is 1-9 against Cuba City since September of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Redbirds will face off against the Cubans at 7:00 p.m. Darlington will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more sets each match than the last.

Darlington had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Prairie du Chien on Tuesday. The Redbirds blew past the Blackhawks 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-17, 25-12.

Cuba City not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 9th (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on Boscobel with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Cuba City took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-7, 25-11.

Darlington is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-15 record this season. As for Cuba City, their win bumped their record up to 24-13.

Darlington suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Cuba City in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Redbirds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
