Basketball Recap: Ashaan Singh's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pendleton Heights over Delta

Pendleton Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Delta Eagles. The Arabians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Pendleton Heights lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ashaan Singh, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Brandt Gray, who posted 11 points.

Delta's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Furney, who went 5 of 11 en route to 10 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bronson Edwards, who put up 13 points and eight boards.

Pendleton Heights' record now sits at 5-9. As for Delta, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Pendleton Heights wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-56 loss against Tri-West Hendricks on the 25th. As for Delta, they will take on Blackford at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
