Softball Recap: Fairmont Golden Tornadoes vs. Lumberton Pirates

Fairmont had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-12 to make it four. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lumberton Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Tornadoes of the 9-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Jamey Quinata made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jaelyn Hammond was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Leea Wilkins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Fairmont wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-3 victory against Clinton on the 29th. As for Lumberton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-2 defeat against Purnell Swett on the 29th.
