Basketball Recap: Shorewood's Run of Six Straight Wins Now Over

After a string of six wins, Shorewood's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 54-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Martin Luther Spartans. The matchup marked the Greyhounds' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Shorewood lost, don't look at Serinity Metcalfe. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 36 points and 14 rebounds. Metcalfe is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 18 games she's played dating back to last season.

Shorewood's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2. As for Martin Luther, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shorewood will head out to take on Greendale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Martin Luther, they will head out on the road to face off against Shoreland Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
