Basketball Recap: Bayard Tigers vs. Bridgeport Bulldogs
Bayard lost against Bridgeport last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bayard Tigers were outmatched by the Bridgeport Bulldogs and fell 66-27. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 65th).

Despite the loss, Bayard saw an underclassman step up: freshman Wyatt Edmunds posted ten points and six boards. Edmunds is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played.
Gage Nein was a one-man wrecking crew for Bridgeport as he went 9 of 14 on his way to 18 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Nein continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Colton Carrier, who scored nine points and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Bayard and nudges their season record down to 4-14. As for Bridgeport, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Bayard has already played their next game, a 59-39 defeat against Gordon-Rushville on the 7th. As for Bridgeport, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-37 win against Morrill on the 7th.
