3A Region II District 15 recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 3A Region II District 15 this week, Athens beat Mineola 56-14. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Hornets.
Van made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,648 from 4,925. The improvement was largely due to a 55-10 victory over Mabank last week.
Brownsboro's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bears feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jared Bragdon has thrown for 1,206 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Will Bailey has 27 catches for 367 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Brownsboro takes on Athens. The Bears' offense has scored 184 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Hornets have allowed only 137 on the year.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Canton takes on the Vandals. The Eagles are currently in second, while Van is in fourth.
