Preview: Discovery Titans vs. Peachtree Ridge Lions
Discovery has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Peachtree Ridge Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Discovery will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 396th, while Peachtree Ridge is ranked 42nd).
Last Friday, Discovery came up short against Meadowcreek and fell 34-24.
Rylee Bradley-roberts put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 51 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Peachtree Ridge put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They came out on top against North Gwinnett by a score of 27-17.
Peachtree Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Darnell Kelly led the charge by throwing for 243 yards and three touchdowns. Myles Abernathy was in the mix too, providing Peachtree Ridge with two touchdowns.
Peachtree Ridge's victory bumped their season record to 7-0 while Discovery's defeat dropped theirs to 1-7.
Discovery couldn't quite finish off Peachtree Ridge when the teams last played back in October of 2022 and fell 17-14. Can Discovery avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
