Basketball Game Preview: Sheridan Rams vs. Liberty Tree Academy War Eagles

The Sheridan Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Liberty Tree Academy War Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Sheridan didn't have too much trouble with Denver Academy as they won 75-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Bobby Garcia was a one-man wrecking crew as he shot 48% from the field to rack up 25 points along with seven assists and six boards. Noah Gallegos was another key player, putting up 17 points in addition to five assists and five steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Sheridan was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Liberty Tree Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Ascent Classical Academy on Saturday, taking the game 50-41. The War Eagles haven't had any issues with the Guardians recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Sheridan now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Liberty Tree Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Sheridan might still be hurting after the 57-37 defeat they got from Liberty Tree Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the War Eagles' Kaleb Mendez, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Now that the Rams know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
