Football Game Preview: Glades Day Gators vs. Gateway Charter Griffins + How To Watch

The Glades Day Gators will face off against the Gateway Charter Griffins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Glades Day played against Southwest Florida Christian on Friday and lost via forfeit.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Gateway Charter turned things around against Babcock on Friday. They walked away with a 26-18 victory over the Trailblazers. The Griffins' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Gateway Charter found their leader in sophomore Tavares Robinson, who rushed for 109 yards and three scores. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Lenile Deems, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Gateway Charter proved: they limited Babcock to a paltry 0.1 yards per carry. The Griffins' run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 2.7 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 7.2 on average over their last five games.

This is the second loss in a row for Glades Day and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Gateway Charter, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Glades Day against Gateway Charter in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 48-12 victory. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Griffins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
