Basketball Game Preview: Cornerstone Christian Cyclones vs. Ridgeview Mustangs

The Cornerstone Christian Cyclones will head out to take on the Ridgeview Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ridgeview took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cornerstone Christian, who comes in off a win.

Cornerstone Christian will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Calvary Christian Academy, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Cornerstone Christian secured a 40-34 W over Calvary Christian Academy last Tuesday.

Kate Hancock was the offensive standout of the game as she posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Hughes, who earned eight points.

Meanwhile, Ridgeview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Tremont an easy 53-32 victory. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 461st, while the Turks are ranked 135th).

Ridgeview's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Cornerstone Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Cornerstone Christian was dealt a bruising 50-5 loss at the hands of Ridgeview in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Cornerstone Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
