Baseball Game Preview: Crimson Cliffs Mustangs vs. Dixie Flyers

The Crimson Cliffs Mustangs will head out to face off against the Dixie Flyers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Crimson Cliffs came up short against Desert Oasis and fell 9-5.

Crimson Cliffs got a good showing from COLE MARCHANT, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, MARCHANT gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Crimson Cliffs saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AUSTIN SMITH, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. CUTTER CHRISTENSEN was another, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Dixie faced Snow Canyon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Flyers lost 8-1 to the Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Flyers have suffered since March 20, 2025.

Dixie also got a good showing from Jordan Andreas, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Andreas has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Dixie's record now sits at 11-6. As for Crimson Cliffs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
