Basketball Recap: Rolling Meadows Takes a Loss

Rolling Meadows has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Carmel Corsairs. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mustangs came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Corsairs are ranked 237th).

Rolling Meadows' loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3. As for Carmel, they moved to 6-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rolling Meadows will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cary-Grove at 1:15 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Carmel also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Washington at 2:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
