Baseball Game Preview: Sutter Huskies vs. Dixon Rams

Sutter has gone a perfect 3-0 against Dixon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 4:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sutter has three straight victories, Dixon has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Friday, Sutter earned a 6-1 win over Rio Linda.

Sutter got a great performance from Aiden Zwissig as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, Zwissig posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Carson Bishop was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Karter Johnson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Dixon came up short against Casa Roble on Friday, falling 15-4.

Isacc Santos was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Dixon's loss dropped their record down to 4-12-1. As for Sutter, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.

Sutter was able to grind out a solid win over Dixon when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 6-2. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
