Basketball Game Preview: Midlakes Screaming Eagles vs. Waterloo Tigers

Midlakes hasn't had much luck against Waterloo recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Midlakes Screaming Eagles will host the Waterloo Tigers at 7:00 p.m.

Midlakes is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 58 points on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Palmyra-Macedon on Friday. They were outmatched by the Red Raiders and fell 48-20. The matchup marked the Screaming Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Waterloo had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Blue Devils 67-31. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 394th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Waterloo pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Midlakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
