Basketball Recap: Biloxi Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Biloxi couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 23-16 to the Starkville Yellowjackets on Monday. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Yellowjackets earlier this season, when they won 33-29.

Despite the loss, Biloxi had strong showings from Zaniya Johnson, who posted five points along with five boards and five blocks, and Na'Kenya Terry, who earned five points and six rebounds. That's the most blocks Johnson has posted since back in February of 2024.

Biloxi's defeat dropped their record down to 30-2. As for Starkville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

Biloxi does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Starkville, they will square off against Tupelo at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Tupelo comes in on three and Starkville on five.
