Football Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant Vikings vs. Greensburg Salem Golden Lions

The Mt. Pleasant Vikings will square off against the Greensburg Salem Golden Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mt. Pleasant has three straight victories, Greensburg Salem has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Mt. Pleasant barely beat Yough the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings blew past the Cougars, posting a 41-7 win.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 32 points the game before, Greensburg Salem was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a blow against Elizabeth Forward, falling 49-7. The contest marked the Golden Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Greensburg Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Mt. Pleasant, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Mt. Pleasant was able to grind out a solid victory over Greensburg Salem in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 28-21. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Golden Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
