The Maloney Spartans will face off against the Enfield Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Maloney is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Maloney and Berlin meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Spartans took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redcoats.

Maloney saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stella Cicero, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and one RBI. Trinity Hanna was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. Enfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Tolland, sneaking past 5-3. The game was the first time Enfield has beaten Tolland on their field since April 8, 2022.

Paige Cekala was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run. Aaliyah Tousignant also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Enfield's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Maloney, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
