Softball Recap: Central Spartans vs. Jurupa Hills Spartans
Central had lost four straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 6-11 to make it five. They fell just short of Jurupa Hills by a score of 15-14. Even if Central couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Lia Moreno made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season. Victoria Lozano was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
As for Jurupa Hills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games.
