Basketball Recap: Richmond Takes a Loss

Richmond extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They fell 52-41 to the Lawrenceburg Tigers. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 37-21 to the Tigers when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Lawrenceburg, the victory got them back to even at 4-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Lawrenceburg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aubree Labazzo out in front who went 5-for-9 to rack up 19 points and five steals. Labazzo continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kylie Kelsey, who shot 56% from the field en route to 14 points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richmond will challenge Avon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils will be up against the Orioles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.78 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lawrenceburg, they will square off against Batesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
