Softball Recap: St. Patrick-St. Vincent Triumphs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but St. Patrick-St. Vincent had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They skirted past the Credo Gryphon 18-16. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bruins considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

The team relied heavily on Jaquelyn Benito, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Alondra Barba, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .540 that Credo posted.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Credo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-12.

Coming up, St. Patrick-St. Vincent will take on Healdsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Credo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
