Basketball Recap: Cordova Blue Devils vs. Fayette County Tigers
The Cordova Blue Devils entered their tilt with the Fayette County Tigers with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Cordova skirted past the Tigers 46-43. Given Cordova's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Tigers are ranked 358th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cordova to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ali Simon, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 26 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Vance, who scored ten points.
Cordova is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Fayette County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-16.
Cordova will square off against the Lions at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Fayette County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
