Basketball Game Preview: Park View Patriots vs. Rock Ridge Phoenix

Park View is 0-8 against Rock Ridge since January of 2015 but things could change on Friday. After both having extra time off, both will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:15 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Park View is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Brentsville District two weeks ago. Park View came out on top against Brentsville District by a score of 69-56.

Park View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jadon Lane led the charge by putting up 28 points. Those 28 points gave Lane a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josh Monnity, who posted 20 points.

Meanwhile, Rock Ridge posted their biggest victory since January 11th two weeks ago. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Liberty 61-32.

Park View better keep an eye on A.K Mo. He was instrumental in Rock Ridge's win, dropping a triple-double on 34 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Mo has scored at least a third of Rock Ridge's points. The team also got some help courtesy of D.K Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards.

Rock Ridge's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Park View, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Park View ended up a good deal behind Rock Ridge in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, losing 52-34. Can Park View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
