Basketball Recap: Bainbridge Takes a Loss

Bainbridge lost against Colquitt County back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bainbridge Bearcats took a hard 54-37 fall against the Colquitt County Packers. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Packers are ranked 32nd).

Colquitt County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amira Walters- Smith out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. The game was Walters- Smith's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Amareyia Knighton, who went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points along with seven assists and six boards.

Bainbridge is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7. As for Colquitt County, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bainbridge will welcome Dougherty at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Colquitt County, they will host Valdosta at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Colquitt County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season.
