Basketball Recap: Bethel Christian Piles Up the Points Against Cornerstone Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bethel Christian). They blew past the Cornerstone Christian Crusaders 79-44 on Monday. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Kings had established a 31 point advantage.

Joseph Kyababchian continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Chidera Onyeka, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Bethel Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Cornerstone Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Junior Delong, who posted 20 points. Jaxon Gwaltney was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points.

The victory got Bethel Christian back to even at 3-3. As for Cornerstone Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Bethel Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-51 defeat against Calvary Baptist on the 12th. As for Cornerstone Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-35 loss against Santa Ana Valley on the 12th.
