Basketball Recap: Alpine Bucks vs. Kermit Yellow Jackets
The Kermit Yellow Jackets typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Alpine Bucks proved too difficult a challenge. They slipped by the Yellow Jackets 49-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Alpine.
It was another big night for Novah Carrasco, who scored 27 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Alpine's points. Another player making a difference was Ali Maroney, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Alpine has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-16 record this season. As for Kermit, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-14.
Alpine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kermit will head out on the road to challenge the Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
