After a string of seven wins, Highland's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Perry Pumas. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest runs Highland has scored all season.

Micheal Peralta made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-2 with two RBI and a double. Another player making a difference was Beau Tarwater, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

On Perry's side, Matthew Wallace looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (he also only allowed one walk). Payton Holinka relieved him and did a solid job, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (he also only allowed one walk).

Highland will head out on the road to challenge Gilbert at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Gilbert is coming into the matchup with eight straight wins at home, so Highland will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Perry will take on Basha at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Basha is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
