Softball Recap: Grove City Christian Comes Up Short

Grove City Christian managed to slip by Utica the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Redskins on Saturday, falling 14-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since March 31st.

Grove City Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Benedum, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another was Kensley Gregory, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Grove City Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Utica, their record is now 10-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grove City Christian will host Miller at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Utica, they will welcome Newark Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
